One of the most common objections of a paver patio is the assumption that weeds are going to grow through the joints. Following these simple steps will ensure that you do not experience this.

This is what a quality retaining wall looks like
You are comparing it wrong. Cheaper and inexperience vs expensive and experience are two different things. Now if you have cheaper with experience vs expensive with experience is more comparable.
Looks fine to me. Live with what you can afford and appreciate what you have.
Not the best I've seen. Fair looking
Love the lay out. That slight bend in the walk way Is fabulous touch.
Give me stamped concrete all day sure it'll crack but it won't need fixed in a year cause the sand went away
Micro plastic
That’s a nice wall.
Everybody thinks they know everything 🙄
Yeah, 97% of all older retaining lean forward 😅... I used big ass rocks for my wall which i staggered back, orientating the longer sides of the rocks into the wall rather than along it. It did move over time, but it being just normal rocks everything still looks 100%. It's like 200 feet long, 3 feet high all done by hand. No machinery used.
It's only 2 inches of gravel
Not completely true about farmers always having to till. A lot of corn is direct sowed. A machine literally punches the seed in the ground.
Don’t feel bad he wanted cheaper..and he got it 🫡
It is so refreshing to hear from a contractor that knows how to do things right and doesn’t cut corners.
Looks like a properly built wall!!
Not easy work
Looks amazing but are there any weep holes?
I recommend going over it with a blower on low power/idol to remove lose sand from the surface that will otherwise bond to the top of the pavers
yes those block walls are so difficult to bulit only master Manson can do the job. that is why only Mexican do it amigo
The only thing more complicated than a retaining wall is any other type of wall
You don’t do nothing you just hire a bunch of Messicans
Thats good advice!
so... it's a 5 year maintenance check to do that? usually, how much polymeric sand is needed per sqf of patio? I initially thought it could be just top it off...
You make a valid point. But you rushed the evidence i feel. The weed is sprouting up right in the same area where the fabric ends. Yes in many years that mulch bed will be entirely decomposed into dirt and full of weeds but in this exact video it is solely because it's on the end perimeter of the underlying fabric. Still 10/10 educational video. I just wanted to be uber specific.
hey man i know you don’t get a lot of comments on most videos especially ones like this but please keep them up, i seriously appreciate the amount of info ur giving out. you are seriously my inspiration for how i want my business to be
Fabric never made sense to me. Not a Gardner but the concept just didn’t make sense
Flood water should help .
Yea this guys a bs that shit will not stay in there long term
I had no idea they were so complicated! Thank you
Fucking brilliant!
Just plant more plants and plant them closer together
Well… I guess the retaining wall I built at the landscaping company I worked for was done wrong. Good to know
Good bass level start and most important drainage !!!
How high of a wall could you build
This looks expensive as fricK
It definitely beats doing it by hand
Except that it’s pitched toward their home!
I built retainers for Amazon warehouses in southeast PA for about 10 years, just from looking at this residential build, you can tell he cares about the quality of his build and base. Keep up the good work, keep stackin!
Dam 😮
The vacuum cup ones look better to me, but I haven't used them to say it definitively
Just pour a concrete footer and tie rebar into your blocks, not complex. You are selling your customers useless materials son.
You get what you get and no one wants to hear you fit
How do you get pavers if you don’t go to Home Depot or Lowe’s though? Those are the only outdoor stores in my area 😢
Dimensions 18 is a good looking material! Nice work
Your work looks immaculate
Looks good for a season or two
As a perfectionist, I go with the shovel. I think it gives a cleaner and deeper edge. For commercial projects and people who likely don’t care about the fine details like me, this is a perfect machine for them.
You never know he might not care. Some folks are like that.
I wish I had the money to have one built. There’s a pretty steep bank between me and my neighbor’s house. I don’t like the look of it and mowing it sucks. A friend wanted a shirt one, maybe 20’ and only 2 or 3 feet high and got an estimate for $20,000. He said screw that.
They mix Portland cement into the sand
